Description: For sale is a side plate by Sterling China featuring the Rio pattern with blue-gray airbrush and a small bloom of Bleeding Heart flower. The airbrush landscape depicts the mountainous skyline of Rio de Janeiro, including two mountain peaks; the smaller hill appears to show the statue "Christ The Redeemer" (photograph 7). A band of gray sky defines the top of the plate with a graphic shadow on the left to frame the flower. The Bleeding Heart has vivid colors with pink and yellow flowers against dark green leaves. This piece is in very good condition with no damage and light wear including a few small utensil marks on the surface. There are three distinct stilt marks on the reverse (photograph 12).
