Description: This 14” x 12” art piece was created using vintage typeset / printing blocks with Stephenson Blake & Co metal frame. The completed art piece was purchased in England by a family member in the 1990s. Tags on the back indicate the typeset / printing blocks are “Old Face Bold” (possibly Baskerville Old Face) and there is a sticker indicating that some element dates to “1890” (though I do not know which element and cannot verify this date). PLEASE NOTE: The typeset pieces are held in place by an epoxy that covers the back of the piece (see photos). This has become dry with age and the overall piece is, as well as some individual pieces are, very loose in the frame and need to be reglued (see photos). The overall piece is heavy (over nine pounds) and great caution should be exercised when lifting the frame so that the piece does not separate from and fall out of the frame! I have tried to represent the color and any print as accurately as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact color match due to the variations in different device settings and the appearance of colors in different lightings. This piece shines beautifully when lit, but looks dark when placed in a darker area. Shipping cost is based on package size, weight, and destination.
