The group took their name from the Stemmons Freeway (Interstate 35E) which in turn was named after Dallas businessman Leslie Stemmons. “Woman, Love Thief” shares the same backing track as The Precisions’ “Such Misery” which was recorded a few years earlier in Detroit in 1966.
