Description: Steel body to make a smoothing plane on the lines of the English wood-filled planes made by Norris in the 1800s. Usually filled with hardwood. The body is 2 1/4” wide, to fit a 2" iron, and 7 1/2” long. Width of the mouth is 1/4”. the outside is smooth, some machining marks are visible on the inside also the welds between the sides and the sole. I have some rosewood blanks 1” thick, 2 would fit inside this body, please see my eBay listing no 134949627572, will combine postage.
