Description: Startex Tinplate Clockwork ModelSUNBEAM ALPINE ROADSTER***** This is a super and harder to find example of the Sunbeam Alpine Roadster produced in England by Minimodels Ltd. The Sunbeam Alpine was the first model produced under the Minimodels 'Startex' brand name and was billed as a keyless, clockwork model fitted with a self starter.To start the car pull out the steering wheel with chord attached which winds up the 'clockwork' motor, then simply let go and off goes the car. The Alpine model comes in cream bodywork colourway finish with red seating.'STX 1' Registration plate to rear. Missing its plastic windshield and does have some minor paint chips, mainly confined to its raised edges and only to be expected considering its almost 70 years old !Black rubber tyres fitted on silver, wire effect hubs.Model still has front and rear bumpers in place along with headlight surrounds and its silver radiator grille. Fitted with a black tinplate baseplate. Measures some 14cm. in length at 1:43 scale ? ( Note that the last picture shows the plastic screw thread which formed part of the original windshield along with the brass retaining nut which held the windshield in position and is included for what its worth.) Overall a superb example of this highly collectable Startex model. Hopefully the pictures should tell their own story !
