Description: Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Alan Dean Foster. This is the first original Star Wars novel ever written, and was intended to be the source material for a low-budget movie sequel, should the first one not do terribly well. It did not get made. First book club edition, 1978. First printing with gutter code I14, very rare. The book is pretty beat up, but the binding is sound. Pages show some occasional spotting/soiling. Boards show considerable handling wear and the spine is somewhat tilted. Jacket shows heavy wear and the front flap is completely separated. A mylar jacket protector has been added to preserve what’s left. Everything as pictured. Womp rats really aren't much bigger than two meters.
