Description: If you are working with sheet metal and need to add some bends to a project, these 3D printed vise press brake dies might be just what you need! This die set comes installed with strong neodymium magnets which allows you to quickly attach the dies to the inside of your vise jaws. Our dies are 3D printed using a high compressive strength polymer, making it possible to bend sheet metal. Using a vise with a deeper throat will allow you to form longer flanges in your part. If tightening the vise by hand is difficult, use a pipe or wrench around the handle to apply more force. Sticking a small magnetic angle level on your part while bending can help you get consistent angles outside of 90 degrees. We offer these dies in 90 and 85 degree versions. Bending the material past 90 degrees with an 85 degree die can help get perfect 90 degree bends if material springback is an issue. The amount of springback can vary based on the material being formed such as certain types of aluminum and stainless steels, the inside radius of the bend, and the grain direction of the metal. A quick google search on "bending springback" can provide more information on what causes it and how much to expect. Bending thicker metal can cause damage to the dies and increased wear on the tips of punch and V opening. Sharp burrs on edge of metal can cut into dies. As with normal steel dies, do not allow the edge of material to slide into V opening as it can cause increased wear. Actual color of product may vary from what is shown in pictures. Minor cosmetic imperfections may exist due to the 3d printing process.*
