City of Rockland after its first major accident on the night of July 26, 1904 when it struck Upper Gangway Ledge in Penobscot Bay off the coast of Maine. The back of the card has notes regarding another later accident involving the S.S. City of Rockland that occurred on September 2, 1923 near Popham, Maine (incorrectly identified as Massachusetts) at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Condition: There are scrapbook remnants and writing on the back as well as other various signs of wear and discoloration - please inspect pictures to further assess the condition of the card.
