CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel produced by the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy(CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more "conventional" steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This unique steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' U.S. steel mills. DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating that exhibits the unique properties of natural diamonds, such as exceptional hardness and low friction, also corrosion resistance. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry. Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) Blade locking mechanism patented by Spyderco (made in USA). Extremely durable, it provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the Handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent locking. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding Blade. Blade - laser-cut with a modified Clip Point profile , coated with a black DLC coating. Plain blade is brought out with a Full Flat Grind to increase cutting properties and reduce the weight of the knife. The blade offers extreme sharpness, unmatched edge durability and also tremendous corrosion resistance. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows the knife to be opened even with a glove. Prominent Finger Choil - a profiled undercut for the index finger and a notched thumb ramp on the Blade's back increase the knife's control. Handle - made of G-10 plastic (durable, resistant to high and low temperatures, chemicals) bolted to steel liners using torx screws. The surface of the grips was finished with the Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture pattern reserved for the Salt series. The folder is equipped with a screw-on metal clip with four-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the back of the grip, an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for pulling alanyard or safety line.
