We are in desperate need for donations to cover her unexpected veterinary bills. One of our prettiest colony cats Cassie may have beenhit by a car last year. It was late afternoon, early evening when I found her still warm and soft body alongside the road. Cassandra (Cassie), was a stunning long-haired beauty, with the most striking eyes. Cassie is sister to Peaches, another beautiful cat who was found dead in the parking lot only months after Cassie. Cassie was well known and beloved by all. He had the sweetest personality and loved to eat! She was always at the established feral cat colony herein Manalapan, NJ. Unfortunately, Cassie died alone, and her death is deemed suspicious as was her sister's given what we have recently learned. You can how beautiful she was for an outside cat. Her fur was immaculately groomed. She wouldn't have it any way! Cassie will forever be remembered for her friendly, yet independent personality, and her magnificent beauty. She was soooo soft. She loved to wander around with her friends or simply hang out in the cool grass. Although she lived outside for more than six years, her fur was perfect. She was little miss fussy when it came to her fur! She will be missed terribly by her sisters and me. She is missed every single day. Fly with the Angels beauty girl. Why was Cassie near the road when she never in 6 years left the colony? It was highly suspicious. Since March 2016, there has been an increase in criminal mischief in the colony and it became clear who the individuals are. An envious and jealous, immature woman from the local business had an ulterior motive, an agenda, and began hanging around on a daily basis with an interest in the cats. She had a lot of time to spend stalking the cats and me every day, several times a day, obsessed. She offered to help feed the cats and we supplied food and training. Suddenly everything changed. Unusual and tragic things started to happen.I later discovered that woman would crouch down at the tip of the parking lot calling to the cats. She dropped (littered) food on the grass near the lot every Friday as a lure or to litter in attempt to sabotage my efforts. We caught her wandering the colony on days when it was another volunteers day to fed. She brought friends back there unauthorized by us or even mentioned. Food started disappearing. She began to lure cats towards the basement of the work place, which is across a street from their wooded forest home. This motive was not clear in the beginning yet the cats behaviors changed because of her invasive, negative, evil energy. She invades the colony on a daily basis and has been stealing supplies, vandalizing our equipment and stealing microchipped cats along withnursing kittens born of a hard to trap mom. We discovered recently that the stolen kittens were given to a rival rescue who posted them for sale on an adoption website. Not sure if you can see that Cassie ear was notched. It was not notched by me and it was done recently. An envious rescue group has been re-trapping our cats because of their own agenda wanting to sabotage our efforts and take over our colony as if there aren't hundreds of others! They know our cats are TNR'd and very well cared for yet do not care and have been sneaking into our colony stealing cats. It appears they are wasting their time. I prefer to not ear tip colony cats for health reasons (they are microchipped) yet the TNR zealots are of the misguided belief they can steal microchipped cats, re-sedate them and maim the cats without permission. Signs are clearly posted that the cats belong to and are cared for by Freya's Cat Rescue. In addition, the envious woman has been stalking/harassing me and the cats by sneaking into the colony on a "daily" basis early in the morning as the cats sleep, after hours, weekends, stealing food, looking into their houses, turning them on their sides, upsetting the cats, causing them to feel unsafe in their once safe "sanctuary". She and her partner in crime had an ulterior motive from the beginning and have been vandalizing the colony, breaking bowls, stealing cushions, stomping a feeding station and causing anxiety and fear in the cats who once felt safe and calm. It is her intent to undermine and sabotage our efforts while colluding with others to steal cats. I have trained our cats to stay in their wooded home and to not walk the parking lot. It is only since this mean-spirited woman and her friends have been wrecking the cats homes they started to wander. When cats do not feel safe or there is a change in schedule it means something is amiss. Cats do not magically disappear or wander away without reason. It is because of her abuse and harassment that Cassie is gone. We could really use your help to offset unexpected veterinary bills. Please also consider giving in memory of your own furbaby who has crossed over. Thank you for helping! Every little bit helps.
