Description: SOYLENT GREEN Blockbuster Video Backer Card / Display Card / Mini Poster. This measures 5.5 inches by 8 inches. This card is plastic. It is a display card, NOT a DVD. The artwork features artwork from the classic movie poster from the 1973 science fiction thriller, Soylent Green. John Solie did the art for the classic poster. The film starred Charlton Heston, Leigh Taylor-Young, Edward G. Robinson, Brock Peters, Paula Kelly, Rosalind Cash, Joseph Cotten, Cheri Howell, and Chuck Connors. These "backer cards" were used by Blockbuster Video to place behind the copies of the DVDs of this title that they had for rent. When the DVDs were all rented, the card would still be there as a display item. When the Blockbuster stores went out of business, these display cards made their way to the public and have become quite collectible. They work nicely as mini posters or as parts of larger displays. This Soylent Green backer card is made out of plastic. That is a bit unusual as most of the Blockbuster backer cards were made out of cardboard. Only certain titles got the plastic card treatment. There are no condition problems with this backer card. It is in near mint condition. It has only the slightest hint of edge wear. The buyer pays $4.50 standard USPS ground shipping. This item will be packaged in the envelope between two thick pieces of cardboard so it will not get bent or damaged in transit.
