Description: Souvenir fob issued to advertise the Steel used to build the Unisphere at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair, issued by the U. S. Steel Corp.. USS supplied the Stainless Steel used in it's construction, the actual construction being handled by American Bridge Co. Presumably given away at the Fair in the USS pavilion. 28mm struck in brass and gilt, small tab at top (partially hidden by the holder) for suspension on a key ring or similar. These were apparently originally issued with a short ball chain loop, since lost on this example. Gem Uncirculated with full gilt, this must have been well taken care of immediately, thus surviving the depredations applied to similar souvenirs by the typical World's Fair attendee. Price listed includes "free" shipping, which costs me about $7.00. 1109-13 Please Note: We require payment within four days of purchase, unless you contact us for other arrangements in advance of purchase.
