Description: Beautiful large South Carolina Gullah sweetgrass basket was handmade. In addition to the sweetgrass, it also is made of palm leaf, pine needles and bull rush. It features a lovely looped design in multiple shades of brown to ecru fibers, and is 12" across at the widest point and about 4" high. These types of baskets are considered to be one of America's oldest African crafts. In excellent condition, it was only carefully displayed.
