Halluzinationen is the name of the seventh long-player by the Berlin-based Swiss artist, which was released on November 28th. August 2020 by Caroline International. The singer, multi-instrumentalist and soundtrack composer recently recorded her new album with producer Dan Carey (Kate Tempest, Fontaines DC) from Speedy Wunderground, who was voted "Producer of the Year" by the British Music Producers Guild. Carey also played a number of instruments for the new album. Hallucinations marks Sophie Hunger's second collaboration with Carey, after the Londoner produced Molecules (2018) in 2018. While this time exploring the connection between loneliness and the imagination, among other things, Hallucinations marks another step in the electronic direction she's taken since moving to Berlin and beginning to work with Carey. However, instead of working at his Speedy Wunderground Studios in south London, they rented the legendary Abbey Road Studios (Studio 2) and recorded all the songs on the LP in a single take. The energy of Hallucinationen is therefore much more direct and alive because they only played through the entire album six times in a row - in just two days. They just took "full risk", to put it in Sophie's words.
