Description: I'm the original owner. I believe the original price was $3,500. A few years ago, I gave away all my SACDs and CDs and promised myself I would list this player for sale. Then I brought it to the garage and promptly forgot about it. I took it out of the garage this week to list it for sale. To test the unit for sale, I purchased and popped in a dual-layer SACD. Unfortunately, the player would only recognize the CD layer. (CD layer sounded great, for what it is worth). After searching the internet for a couple minutes, it looks like this is a common issue, which can potentially be resolved by some combination of cleaning, realigning, or replacing the SACD laser. No idea, and don't quote me on that. If I was handy, I would try to fix it myself, but I'm not. It played single layer SACDs just fine last time I tried one, several years ago, but I don't have one on hand to test, because (as I mentioned) I gave away my SACDs and CDs years ago. I forgot to test the remote before I taped up the box, but I have the original remote, and it worked just fine last time I used it. Also, there is a film or deterioration or corrosion or something on the outside of the player. I have no idea what this is or how easy it would be to clean. Putting this out there so someone who wants a project or some extra parts can make some use out of it. Thanks.
