Description: Listing is for a Vintage 1975 Solido Toner Gam II Dodge WC-51 6 x 6 Fire Truck, 1:50, Die-cast, # 2136, 1:50, Die-cast Metal, New in Box ("NIB"), Mint Condition-RARE. Red Fire Truck is 4 5/8" Long x 1 5/8" Wide x 1 1/2" High. GMC Fire Truck comes with 3 axles and 6 wheels, plus a 7th spare tire is secured to driver's side of truck. GMC Fire Truck is 2 1/2-ton 6×6 vehicle. Besides lettering, Fire Truck has 3 cool details such as an extended front bumper, black grill and headlights, and plastic towing hook on rear. Fire Truck is C-10, Mint Condition. Its original box and molded plastic container are in C-7, Excellent Condition since each is over 45 years old and show normal ware for this period. Solido vehicle was made in France. Please note that this is 1 of my 22 different Solido firefighting truck listings found on EBay. While an EBay buyer could only find another such collection with an EBay seller in France, nonetheless, U.S. EBay buyers would be paying double to triple shipping costs for international mail service. GMC was a highly successful series of off-road capable, 2 1/2-ton 6×6 truck, built in large numbers to a standardized design (during 1941 - 1945) for U.S. Army, that saw heavy service, predominantly as cargo trucks, in both World War II and Korean War. Original “Deuce and a Half”, formed backbone of famed Red Ball Express that kept Allied armies supplied as they pushed eastward after Normandy invasion. GMC 2 1/2-ton 6×6 trucks remained in active U.S. service until mid-1960s. I drove these trucks as late as 1971 while serving. Many specialized variants of GMC 2 1/2-ton 6×6 were made, some in small numbers, including painted red as fire department supply trucks, such as this toy model contained in this listing. Also, please note that typically, Solido tanks and armored fighting vehicles as well as firefighting trucks are made in a 1:50 scale while the support vehicles, which include the jeeps and staff cars, are produced in a slightly larger 1:43 scale. Additionally, Solido military models are built so well that over 45 years later they are as good as they were when they were built and first sold.
