These front Right and Left speakers are designed with 8inch woofers, 1” dome tweeters and .75” rear firing tweeters for an enhanced spatial audio experience. At higher frequencies, sound from front tweeters become more directional and as such lose some reverberant qualities. Snell’s genius solution: The E IIIs compensate for this narrowing dispersion with the .75” rear firing tweeter. This preserves the sound’s spaciousness quality. These speakers can reproduce any type of music accurately but are particularly exceptional with classical music. The speakers come in a sleek black oak veneer cabinet with a few minor scratches that come from 30 years of age. The black front screens have long since worn out and were replaced around 2012 to complement mid century decor. Still, they look great without any screens at all. They measure a height of 35.5 inches or 90cm, a length of 11 inches or 33cm, and a width of 13 inches or 28cm. The Snell Acoustics Model EIII was made circa 1990.
