SMURFS Original Animation Production Cel, GLUG the Evil Gargoyle, 1980s

Description: This is an actual animation production cel from the 1980s THE SMURFS cartoon TV show, which was created by Peyo, and produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios. A cel is a hand-painted piece of art, printed on a clear sheet of cellulose/celluloid, that was used in the making of an anime / animated cartoon. The full image is painted on a single clear sheet that measures 10.5x12.5 inches. This is an original vintage cel, actually painted to be used in the production of the program -- it is NOT a copy or reproduction. The painted scene shows a Gargoyle, who I believe is named GLUG -- who is Gargamel's evil henchman in one or more episodes. Overall Condition: EXCELLENT ..... The cel has some very mild wear on the black outlines, plus the clear celluloid sheet on which the scene is painted may have warped a bit with age -- resulting in the slightest hint of waviness. This waviness is barely noticeable, and if matted and framed, the cel will still display beautifully. ********************************************************************* PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert on vintage animation art.
