SMURFS Hanna-Barbera Animation Production Cel, SMURFETTE & GARGOYLE THARP, '80s

Description: This is an actual animation production cel from the 1980s THE SMURFS cartoon TV show, which was created by Peyo, and produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios. A cel is a hand-painted piece of art, printed on a clear sheet of cellulose/celluloid, that was used in the making of an anime / animated cartoon. There are three sheets that are put together to make up the full image, with different characters/items painted on each sheet. The sheets each measure 10.5x12.5 inches. This is an original vintage cel, actually painted to be used in the production of the program -- it is NOT a copy or reproduction. The painted image shows SMURFETTE, holding a rope, walking towards THARP THE GARGOYLE. PLEASE NOTE: I purchased these cels as part of a large collection, and they were already put together as scenes at that point. Sometimes, the numbers along the bottom of the sheets do not match, so it is likely that some of these particular scenes never actually appeared this way on the TV show. It is likely that whoever put them together, did so to balance out the scene and make it look better for display. However, these sheets are not attached in any way, so they would be easy to separate, if so desired. So in effect, if they are mismatched, you would get two cels instead of one. Overall Condition: Solid VG/VG+ ..... The cel has some slight wear on the black outlines, plus the clear celluloid sheet on which the scene is painted has warped a bit with age -- resulting in some light to moderate waviness along all edges. ********************************************************************* PLEASE NOT: I am NOT an expert on vintage animation art. I have tried to describe these cels to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing them, are not terms I am experienced with. I am also not knowledgeable on the hobby criteria in condition grading -- so I use my condition grades in a commonsense manner -- as if grading any collectible -- they are not based on any hobby standards.
