Description: The Douglas TBD-1 Devastator was the primary torpedo bomber of the US Navy at the beginning of WWII. Already obsolete, it suffered badly against the Mitsubishi Zero in the early Pacific battles. The Devastator was soon replaced by the faster and more heavily armored Grumman TBF Avenger. This die-cast model in a 1/72 scale faithfully recreates the TBD-1 Devastator as seen in the Battle of Coral Sea flown by Lt. Cdr. James Brett from VT-2, USS Lexington in May 1942. The model is 14.6cm long and has a wingspan of 21cm.
