Description: This auction is for SIX CUSTOM MANUFACTURED 1/8" DRILL BLANK AXLES. These were carefully designed for the specific application of slot car axles compared to a drill blank that was produced for the purpose of making a drill bit an may also be used as a axle. They are .25" shorter than a standard drill blank to eliminate un-necessary weight. They have been precision ground and polished with the tolerance band adjusted to better assure consistant fit into the 1/8" ball bearings that I supply as well. I don't know about you but fit has been something that has been a struggle with me for a very long time. The combination of these axles and ball bearings I supply if an attempt solve that problem. Length of axle is 2.5"Please take note of the following recommendation: This applies to all axles regardless of diameter. Prior to installing the axle in car’s bearings, unless the axle has flats ground by the manufacturing process, flats should be ground with a rotary tool grinding wheel where ever tire and/or gear set screw will come in contact with the axle. Once the flats have been ground in the proper locations, debur the entire axle with a fine emery cloth while rotating the axle in your rotary tool. The entire process takes 3 minutes or less. This will better insure the security of that component onto the axle and help prevent the tire or gear from rotate on the axle during the operation of the car.
