Description: The panchamukha, dashabhujadhari Lord Hanuman. A rare iconography of the great yogi, otherwise usually portrayed as the humble servant of Vishnuavatara Rama. Sculpted from brass, given an textured red colour finish, it is a sacred and powerful composition. Lord Hanuman is in a rudimentary vatayanasana. The anteriormost right hand is raised in blessing, whereas the remaining ones, bearing a multitude of weaponry, are extended laterally. The silhouette seems to even out the five heads of Hanuman juxtaposed to each other.Interestingly, the five faces of Hanuman are of a Vishnuavatara each. This manifestation of the Lord, dating back to 500 AD, is expressive of His deep bhakti to Vishnu in His every avatara. A septagonal plinth with two tiers, of the same colour as the murti.HEIGHT: 11.3 INCHWIDTH: 10.5 INCHDEPTH: 6 INCHWEIGHT: 6.06 KG
