Description: ANTIQUE BUTLER'S SERVING TRAYLARGE, WITH HANDLESSILVERPLATE, CIRCA 1930S?MADE BY 1881 ROGERSPATTERN: CROYDON This is a (nearly) antique serving tray. Marked 1881 Rogers Croydon. Most likely made in the 1930s, so this is nearly an antique by 1881 Rogers. Made of Silverplate. This is a larger Butler's Serving Tray. The tray itself is 22" long by 16.5" wide without the handles, the handles make it 27" long. The overall depth or height is just under 1" at 7/8" inch. Although shallow, this tray does have about .5" dip from bottom up to lip or rim. The pattern is called Croydon-it is a floral, shell, and foliage pattern with a blank in the center that was intended for a monogram. There is a simple little leaf-like pattern along the rim of the tray which is mimicked in the handles. One of the handles has come off of this tray. It could easily be tacked on by someone with the skill. Otherwise the tray is in great condition. The silver is intact and the metal is straight and true without any dents or other malformations.
