The pendant has 45 bezel-set pieces of purple spiny oyster shell and the sterling silver setting is done in the satin or antique finish. The back is marked "Sterling" and "J. Mariano" for the Zuni silversmith. The pendant measures 3 1/4 inches long with the bale (2 1/2 inches long without the bale) by 2 inches wide. The bale diameter measures 7/8 inch.
