Kokopelli (Native American Fertility Deity) Kokopelli (/ˌkoʊkoʊˈpɛliː/) is a fertility deity, usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player (often with feathers or antenna-like protrusions on his head), who is venerated by some Native American cultures in the Southwestern United States. Like most fertility deities, Kokopelli presides over both childbirth and agriculture. He is also a trickster god and represents the spirit of music. Connie Baker (American, 20th century) Vintage Southwest stucco art painting featuring fanciful Native American pottery scenery, signed by Nebraska Sandhills artist, Connie Baker. The interesting texture and relief created in these stucco paintings are achieved by applying a texturing compound with palette knives and paintbrushes in numerous layers, each piece is individually hand-painted and airbrushed overlapping the colors to achieve interesting shades and natural tunes resulting in these calming and beautiful soft colors. The images are an original collection of designs by the artist Connie Baker, they are produced in a studio near a rural community on the eastern edge of the Sandhills in Nebraska.
