Description: Signed 1st American edition. Here is a beautiful collectible copy of The Meaning Of Culture by John Cowper Powys. This is a second American edition printing and published in the same year as the first by Norton in 1929. This copy has been signed by the author directly on the front free endpaper as shown in his usual flourishing signature. The binding is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The front board paper has split exposing the binding however the binding is strong and secure. This is strictly cosmetic. The black cloth boards are lightly soiled but for the rear board which is more pronounced as shown. The original paper labels are still firmly attached to the spine and the front board also as shown. There is wear to the corners of the boards and wear to the top spine end which I included in the photos. The paper label on the spine has darkened somewhat yet remains completely legible. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any collection or library. Please see all pics and ask any questions you may have and as always I never list ex library or book club editions so buy with confidence. And please check out my 100% positive seller feedback!!! Thanks for looking.
