Timothy Smith took the dissertation and revised it into book format, tracing with maps, the movements of both Confederate, and Union units, during the bloody two day battle April 6-7, 1862. Timothy Smith was a ranger at Shiloh Battlefield. He autographed this copy at the battlefield. He currently teaches at the University of Tennessee. The book is in good condition. The dust jacket is undamaged. The book cover, as well as the pages inside the book, show no tears, or wear. There is no extraneous markings or writing other than the author's autograph on the title page cover. The appendix includes the Confederate Order of Battle, the Organization of the Union Army, Causality figures by unit, photographs and a car tour, and a bibliography. This book has a nameplate on the inside cover. 476 pages, including various maps and photographs of the leaders.
