Description: SHAWNEE (1927) She was a passenger steam turbine-powered ship built in 1926-1927 by Newport News Ship Building & Drydock Co., Newport News, VA for Clyde Steamship Co, a subsidiary of AGWI. She was a 6,209 GRT ship with length of 407' and beam of 62' and depth of 19'. Two screws, 19 knots. Passenger accommodations for 723 and crew of 174. She was transferred to the War Shipping Administration in 1941 and was used as a US Army Transport until 1946. In 1946 came under the ownership of the Iberian Star Line and renamed CITY OF LISBON. In 1947 came under the control of the Jugoslavenska Linijska Plovidba Line and renamed PARTIZANKA. Caught fire on August 12, 1949.
