Dark navy cloth covered boards with blind-stamped border and gilt lettering and graphics on the front boards panel; gilt lettering on spine. Board panels are scuffed and stained. Spine edges are scuffed. Tail of spine and adjacent lower edges of front and back board panels are damp-stained. Edges at head and tail of board spine are split and fraying. All fore-edge corners are rubbed through. External page edges are age- and soil-darkened. External side and lower page edges are untrimmed. The damp-stain showing at the tail of board spine is also evident on the end-papers and several of the front and back pages, for approximately 2 1/4" from the lower edge. Inside front gutter is cracked at the title page and back gutter is cracked at the paste down/back end paper. Several pages have smudges or stains but text is not impacted. Tape repairs on pages 206-208 - see photos. Text pages are age-toned. Text block is slight shaken but stable overall.
