SET 5! 1917 Vtg Framed Original Prints Signed C Twelvetrees 5 SENSES Baby Puppy

Description: This is a RARE set of 1917 original prints illustrated and signed by Charles Twelvetrees — 5 SENSES SERIES with babies and puppy dogs. I have had these prints in their original frames for around 50 yrs and they were very old when I acquired them. In my research it appears these prints originally came from a supplement in the PICTORIAL REVIEW magazine in the August 1917 issue. I believe that someone back in 1917 framed these illustrations from the magazine supplement. The words Smelling, Hearing, Tasting, Seeing & Feeling were hand inked on the prints. All the frames match (same framing material) but are different in size. I took the prints out of the frames out of curiosity. It looks like the prints were very nicely adhered (nice and flat no bubbles or waves) to a dense cardboard. See the last 3 pics to see them out of the frames, the backs (which are interesting too) and a close up of the edge of a print. This has turned out to be a fun research project for me. There is not a lot of information on this set of 5 prints. See all pictures for more details as they are part of the description.
