Description: This finely carved mask is 16.5" x 7.25" x 3.75". It is unmarked, but from my research, this is a Kpelie mask carved by the Senufo people from Cote d'Ivoire. I'm not sure what type of wood it's made from, but it has a stain that kind of makes it look like oak wood. This would look great on your wall, but there are some flaws that mostly face the wall. The bird on top has a small chip on the back of each wing, and a tiny one on the back, and a crack in the leg. The back rim of the mask has a chip at the top, which looks like it was there since it was carved. There are no holes in the back of the mask, which is why it was previously hung on the wall using the twine around the birds legs.
