SENKO WORM FLIES 5 VARIATIONS SIZE 1/0 HOOK BASS FLY FISHING

Description: SENKO WORM OR RICH'S ULTIMATE WORMTied with the method and materials of the originator, Rich McElligot.This fly is commonly called the Senko worm fly or Rich's Ultimate Worm (as advertised on the Bass Pro website). I tied these using the original material, that being Patons Bohemian Chenille. The names of the different colors of this chenille are rather whimsical. I retained the color names when naming the flies: Hypnotic Haze (white/black/blue) Wandering Wines (pink/purple), Artistic Taupe (brown/black/cream), Coral Sunrise (yellow/orange), Indigo Indulgence (blue/brown/black/green).These flies are not for the novice fly fisher. The material absorbs water making the fly heavy and difficult to cast. You are going to need as a minimum an 8wt fast-action fly rod and bullet or shooting head tapered fly line. I recommend a knotted leader with at least a 12lb tippet to turn this fly over. You need to know how to double haul cast. I cannot cast these well against any level of wind, fairly successful with no wind or a slight to mild back wind. Casting distance about 40 feet.This is the best weedless fly in my fly box. The fly works by the bass chomping down on the chenille and exposing the hook point. These flies are tied on a Gamakatsu off-set worm hook, extra wide gap size 1/0. However, as flies sell and I retie I am tying on Gamakatsu size 1 hooks. These hooks are as effective as 1/0, but are slightly lighter and result in easier casts.Note, do not mash the barb down.
