Description: Various garments from the Sciots. Includes a vest with Sciots in script to back, Blue satin pants and velvet jacket, tassled cumberbund, black wool pants with suspenders - the pants have a piping like trim down the sidd. There was also a blue knit tie found in the inside pocket of the blue jacket. Two garments have names written in them N. E. Anderson (vest) and J. Simpson (Blue pants). These may date to the 30's as I found a newspaper clipping from 1939 with a Sciot wearing a seemingly identical blue outfit. Tag on red and white vest: Lilley & Ames. Tag on blue velvet jacket: Henderson Ames Co Kalamazoo MI Military and Society Goods. My research shows that the latter was in operation between1893-1933 when it merged to form Lilley and Ames. I am maxed out on how many photos I can post but contact me and I can send a photo from the 1939 article of a Sciot wearing the same or very similar uniform. Sizes: Blue velvet jacket: pit to pit: 19" inner sleeve: 18 1/2" Blue satin pants: waist: 38" inseam: 30" (I believe th cuffs of these pants are worn raised, alladin-like) Wool pants: waist: 33" inseam: 29 1/2" Condition: these have various staining including large area of stain to right front thigh on blue satin pants and front of cumberbund and elsewhere (I have not tried cleaning any garments). The photos don't show the staining very well. The white trim has been yellowed and is sshows some dirtiness..There is also fabric damage including fraying, wear and stains to areas. The wool pants have lint, wrinkles and small light mark. The upper inside of the vest has a plastic like fabric that is in poor condition - it sticks to itself, has yellowed and has tearing. Better to just try to remove, in my opinion. Please use the magnifier tool to study the photos.
