Description: This is a near complete copy of the scarce 1975 production between the educational publisher Allyn and Bacon and the American Antiquarian Society. This collection of historical facsimile documents was specially created for American Bicentennial Celebration for classroom use in Middle and High Schools. It includes 149 finely reproduced documents (numerous large foldout maps and newspapers) that are each discussed in an included teacher's guide. All are contained in the original plastic attaché case. The case has some wear and the labels are chipped on the both sides of the case. A return mailer is affixed to the inside of the case with some old sticker residue around it. All four facsimile packets (A-D) are present and each has some light wear commensurate with use. This set is only missing item A-1 (John's Smith's Map of Virginia) out of the original 150 documents. The facsimile documents are fine with only one or two having small corner creases. The teacher's booklet (8.5 x 11) has some cover wear. Pages( 72p. [i-iv], 1-67, [68]) are clean and free of foxing or notations. The two-page (8.5 x 11 inches, front and back) advertising flyer is creased and rubbed. Allyn and Bacon's 1975 Virginia catalogue is annotated at the top and the staples have some corrosion. (34p. 10.7 x 21.2 cm.)
