Description: SAVATAGE PROSET SUPERSTARS MUSICARDS 1991 USA 1st Edition CARD 33 YEARS OLD, RARE VINTAGE (Card Size: 3.5x2.5 in / 9x6.5 cm) Savatage is an American heavy metal band founded by brothers Jon & Criss Oliva in '79 & considered a significant band of the American heavy metal movement of the early-mid ‘80s & has been cited as a key influence on many genres such as power metal, progressive metal, speed metal, thrash metal, death metal & symphonic metal. Savatage debut album Sirens was released in '83. They reached commercial success with 3rd studio album Fight for the Rock ('86) which hit #158 on the USA Billboard 200. Their following 4 albums were also successful & even more critically acclaimed. In '93 guitarist Criss Oliva was killed in a car accident. Following his death, Jon decided to continue Savatage in memory of his brother & released 4 more studio albums with line-up changes before going on a hiatus in 2002. They were reunited in 2015 but have not yet released an official statement regarding future projects.
