Sartre described it as an attempt "to prove that genius is not a gift but the way out that one invents in desperate cases." Trade paperback in Good condition with edge wear and some light stains but no markings inside or out. The 1973 Vintage Books editions of The Age of Reason and Troubled Sleep. Both covers are shiny but Sleep has some trauma to the front lower right corner. Sleep also has a mark on the cover under the catalog number, a prior owner name and address written on the first page, and a few of its pages are a little dog-eared. The classic manifesto Literature and Existentialism in its striking Citadel Press trade paperback edition of the early 1960s. Trade paperback in Good condition with some edge and corner wear, and an gift inscription on the page behind the cover.
