Sarracenia Sarus x Waccamaw - Carnivorous Pitcher Plant

Description: This is a listing for one Sarracenia Saurus x Waccamaw. S. Saurus is a giant, well known xMoorei cultivar created by Phil Faulisi. It produces pitchers of huge proportion, almost 3 feet tall that colors up dark red. S. Waccamaw is another well known S. flava var. Atropurpurea cultivar that has strong red pitchers with a neon green interior and a red lid. It is slow growing and was selected from wild seed many years ago. The hybrid between these two cultivars pretty flava-esque given its parantage of 75% S. flava and turned out great giving the strong parantage. A lot of them turned out to be red individuals while some turned out to be green veined individual with a red lip. I grew these from seed back in Winter 2021 crossed by Jeremiah Harris and the batch has gone through 2 rounds of cullings by myself. I selected nicely colored and vigorous individuals. This individual is an interesting one with red and a dropped lid. Sarracenia goes dormant in the winter where it stops growing completely and loses most of its pitchers. These have been growing indoor for 1 year and outdoors for 2 years. This plant, like other Sarracenia should not be grown indoors and should be grown in full sun, outdoors and sitting in a tray of water. The plant shown in the pictures is the exact one you will receive. The cup noodle is for scale. The image is the exact specimen of what you will receive. Care instructions will be provided with packing. The tallest pitcher is 12.5 inches tall with a lid of 1.75 inches. The rhizome is 1 inches long and has 1 growth point. I have this individual labeled as Clone xMO**-4.17SJ. It is growing in a 2.5 inch pot in a 50/50 mix of peat and perlite. Care instructions will be provided with packing. These plants are pest-free and have been growing outside. My conditions are around 65-90F in the Summer and 25-40F in the winter. A milder winter should be given.
