Description: Sargent M-15503 Single Brass knob by Sargent #M-15503 1910 - 1930 A very popular design which was made in numerous design variations and various materials in brass, bronze, and steel. I have two other examples of the egg & dart knob elsewhere in my store where you note a slight variation in the eggs & darts so please, if you are trying to match them up with ones you already have, look very carefully at the photos. In the last two photos above I compare two side by side. The one on the left (I have 30 of these available currently) has a smaller bullseye, the tip of the arrow is more pronounced, has more of a taper to the side, and also weights about 1/2 ounce more. Always refer to the pictures they are an integral part of the description and best represent the product. If you need more pictures or a further definition please email me BEFORE you purchase. Unless specifically noted otherwise all my antique and vintage brass and bronze pieces that have been polished are offered un-lacquered. Some complain that I ruin original patina and occasionally I will list some like that if they have aged well but for the most part I have tried and they just don’t sell well that way. I sell them individually rather than in sets to afford me a larger market. Collectors may only want one, or you may just need one more to complete a set. I clean and polish most of my knobs for three reasons: 1. Most of mine come to me under paint and/or with terrible or unmatched patinas and require polishing. 2. Most of my clients are people remodeling or restoring a home and they want original patinas that match or they are replacing all and like the fact that they will age uniformly. 3. I just like shiny things (MY PRECIOUS). Good or bad, hopefully, it allows you make out any defects or imperfections in my items. They are un-lacquered and will return the original patina over time or lightly spray with a clear gloss lacquer if you wish to keep the high gloss finish. The choice is yours. I also strive to photo all my knobs in a similar setting and under similar lighting so that you can get as accurate a depiction as is possible. Please remember that these are old pieces, many coming from homes 80 to 120 years old so they will NEVER EVER be perfect and will always show some evidence of natural wear. DO NOT EXPECT them to be like new. V-25
