Description: Designed in 1972 by Richard Sapper for Artemide and made in Italy, the Tizio lamp remains an icon of modernist design. It holds multiple awards and is in the design collection of numerous museums. I believe this to be one of the earliest versions, if not the earliest, as later models have a thin wire attached to the head to facilitate adjusting it into different positions, of which there are myriad, due to the ingenious counter-weight system.
