Description: This is an HP labeled Samsung SM951 M.2 256GB SSD with HP P/N: 793100-001. This is an AHCI (not NVMe) M.2 SSD. The controller chip on this SSD basically acts like an AHCI controller on your PCIe bus and presents the SSD like an ATA device. This AHCI M.2 SSD has the unique ability to be a bootable device on some legacy systems that do not natively support NVMe boot devices. It makes for a great OS boot drive for some legacy servers or computers like the HP Z820 Z620 Z420. I have tested this SSD in my "unlocked" HP Z Turbo drive (http://www.ebay.com/itm/164722621319) and used it as a boot drive in my HP Z820. Look up "Art of Server" on YouTube to see my videos for other M.2 or even NVMe boot drive options for the HP Z820.
