The exhibition, titled "Sam Beam, Recent Visual Works," offers a captivating exploration into the artist's creative process as he breathes life into his imagination through a diverse array of mediums. In his own words, Beam shares, "As a touring musician, I've found the meditative practice of drawing and painting to be a vital relief from the stresses of travel." The exhibition features a collection of visually arresting pieces, including the intriguing snake paintings, conceived in dressing rooms and hotels worldwide, capturing the spontaneity and playfulness inspired by the artist's journeys. Beam further reflects on his creative journey, stating, "The joy of creating a pattern seems to only come second to discovering the best ways to break it." The exhibition encompasses quilt collages created during the COVID-19 lockdowns, each piece a testament to the artist's fascination with outsider art, folk art, and quilt-making traditions. Drawing inspiration from his childhood memories of his mother's quilting projects, Beam ingeniously repurposes Amazon boxes in this expressive and environmentally conscious artistic endeavor.
