Description: SALMON Cassette Single: A)Pedastool Break B) Q * Sealed! Salmon formed in 1993 to play the music that represented their spirits. The thoughts of record deals, labels, A & R's, etc, were foreign to them. What did these matter to a band playing parties and practicing in living rooms? But soon their simple desire to create inspired music resulted in the foursome working the clubs of the Bay Area and releasing their critically acclaimed self-produced, full-length cd "Flourished with Candies". The high demand for their frenetic live performances gave them the opportunity to perform with the likes of Korn, 311, Deftones, Bad Brains, No Doubt, Sublime, etc...... The buzz this created soon attracted a newly formed major label called Red Ant (a now defunct company) and landed the group a seven record deal. Red Ant re-released the Flourished album as "Paco...Drop the Chicken" (including the two unreleased tracks "Dome" and "Starflakes"). It appeared Salmon was set to start spreading its musical message to new fans across the country. But sadly, after a year of limited touring due to label problems, they faced the results of a record company facing bankruptcy. But the seeds had been planted throughout the Western United States. Seeds that still await the return of a band that never got to complete their run. Salmon finally parted ways with Red Ant when it was clear the label was setting its sights on purely commercial skies. With this, Salmon set out on its own and continued to write, play and have fun until in 1998 when they disbanded for a well deserved half year hiatus. After getting back together and releasing the 4-song EP00, drummer Pat Ruiz decided he needed to move on in a different direction. He went on to form Setacide. 21-year old college student Kevin Higuchi replaced Ruiz. When Salmon finally called it quits in 2001, Kevin went on to join Insolence, while Aaron and Pat currently play in Triple Seven.
