The actual cooking measurement is 9 1/2" which means there is a 3/4" lip all way around where the lid sits. Condition: Shows evidence of some scratches from normal use and storage. Please examine the photos as they are a part of the description. This oil core skillet is made of surgical stainless steel and is completely submersible. It was made in the U.S.A. and distributed by Saladmaster Sales, Dallas, TX. It is in very nice condition. With this high quality cookware you can cook. It should last several lifetimes. My wife uses one similar to this one several times a week and has for years. Anyone will tell you that Saladmaster is the best in waterless cookware.
