Description: 50 Fresh Seeds of Plinia Jaboticaba Variety "Sabara" Jaboticaba is a tropical fruit tree native to Brazil. It is also known by the name "Brazilian grape tree". The delicious, sweet grape-like fruits grow directly on the main trunk and branches of the tree. The fruits develop quickly and are ready for harvest about 1 month after flowering. Jaboticaba is a slow growing tree that can grow and fruit in containers/pots. Jaboticaba trees love plenty of rainwater and acidic soil. These trees do very well in partial shade in their early years and can handle full sun when they are more mature. If you live in an area that experiences freezes in the winter, it is highly suggested to protect these trees from the frost. The seeds are cleaned and packed in humid vermiculite to keep the seeds from drying out. Seeds will likely already be germinated by the time you get the package. Therefor it is ideal to plant the seeds in peat moss based potting soil immediately and to not let the seeds dry out. Seeds can take more than a month or 2 before they sprout above the soil. Don't plant the seed deep. It should be only 1 centimeter or 1/2 inch below the soil level. Plant the seeds in a peat moss and perlite soil mixture. Wait till the seedlings are at least a few inches tall before you feed them a slow release fertilizer. Holly-Tone from Espoma is often used. Message me if you have any questions or issues.
