Description: Well-made forged iron 4-pronged spear head. You can see some pride in the blacksmith's work with barbs and prongs being symmetrical and the overall straightness quite impressive at all angles. It's also solid and of good, even weight (approx. 1-1/2 lbs) I'd say this is around 100 years old, give or take 20 years. Probably not older than 150 years old because the rust would've likely bit into this. Great condition if you enjoy a hand-forged tool with a rustic appearance. It does have rust but it's not peeling, flaking and, with casual handling, leaves little or no rust residue on your hands - perfect decorative rustic piece! Or could still be used for its intended purpose - spear fishing/gigging. Overall length is 15-1/2" with the prongs being approx. 8" long. The shaft is approximately 3-1/2" with a 1-3/16" diameter. Likely to fit a 1" diameter pole/handle. Does have one pre-drilled hole for a nail or screw to secure the handle in place.
