Practically all of the original fire gilt finish is present. A superb example all through. The medal Suspension retains beautiful luster everywhere. There are a no bumps or scratches especially visible. The suspension device is original and completed. The certainly soviet ribbon a good condition. It remains sound overall however, and in our opinion, add tremendous amount of character to the medal. The best indication of condition is to study the photographs carefully, the pictures that are taken are also to be considered a part of the description of the item. The suspension device is original and complete, including original mint marked screw plate. The original gilt finish is nicely preserved on all parts of the suspension. The screw post is full or near full length. The medal Suspension of Hero has never been converted and retains its original, full length screw post measuring approx. 10.5 mm from the screw post base. Comes with original screw plate approx. 17.9 mm in diameter screw plate (twist) which is unique to this sub-variation. To summarize, this unaltered piece shows no big of wear, is still very attractive in its own way. The connecting link is original and has not been cut. History: The total number of persons who were awarded this title is 12,755 (twenty people have been stripped of this title due to various circumstances).
