Description: Rare Soviet 1950th "3" denomination brass token for an automated food vending machine; scarce Uncirculated condition with some original mint luster remaining. This type is rare this nice as most of these tokens went through heavy circulation. These tokens ranged in denomination from 1 to 32 and were struck exclusively for the Soviet Interior Trade Ministry. The earliest Soviet mechanical food dispensers for automated cafeterias were manufactured in the USSR in the mid-1950th for the 1957 World Youth Festival in Moscow. Brass alloy; about 20.2 mm in diameter, thick planchet; about 5.2 grams. No dings or rim nicks; original golden-honey patina throughout; not cleaned.
