Description: The RumRill line of art pottery was made by Red Wing Potteries in Red Wing Minnesota only from 1934 to 1937. The name RumRill was used to distinguish these Red Wing pieces from the typical utilitarian ware for which they had been known for many years. This handled vase shape # 287 has a RumRill glaze called Autumn Wheat - a blended soft yellow & tan glaze treatment. The vase has curved handles about 3 inches long. The sides curve out from a narrow base to a wider middle then narrow in again to the neck. It is about 6 inches tall & 3-5/8 inches wide at the widest point. The top opening is about 2-5/8 inches in diameter & the base rim is almost 2-1/2 inches in diameter. The in-mold RumRill is barely visible & the shape number on the bottom is not legible as the glaze is too thick. It is in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing. Ships USPS.
