Description: MEASURES:Height: 3,94 inch; Width: 3,15 inch; Depth: 1,57 inch CONDITIONS:Perfect in every way. Item description:Delightful small sculpture, figurine in vitrified polychrome porcelain entirely decorated by hand, depicting a red-crested cockatoo parrot, signed under the base in blue under glaze by one of the brands of the Rudolstadt manufacture. Made in Germany and dating back to the first decades of the 20th century.Useful information for the evaluation of the object:In the photos just below this description we have placed a pair of Meissen parrots, but very similar in artistic quality, larger, offered at over 5700 euros on 1stdibs and the same ones offered separately on ebay at almost €1500 each. Notice the great resemblance to the one on the right in the pair. It really seems to have been made by the same artist once for Meissen, in a larger version, and then for Rudolstadt, a slightly less important manufacture than Meissen, but still quite valid and German like Meissen. To demonstrate the value of Rudolstadt porcelain, we have placed photos of a large group offered at over €13,000 and a parrot, larger but much more recent than ours, with the mark used from 1977 onwards, offered at over €2,000, to give an idea of the value of this famous German manufacture.Final thoughts on the subject:Although small in size, the sculpture is undoubtedly of the highest artistic quality, especially noteworthy is the beauty of the plumage decoration, all created by hand with the tip of a brush by the artist. The location is also very beautiful, a beautiful cockatoo model, albeit small in size, a real gem, a great quality sculpture.Information on the artist and/or manufacturer:The German city of Rudolstadt is famous for the numerous artistic porcelain factories that operated there, that of our parrot is one of the most important and oldest, founded in 1762 by G. H. Macheleid and still operating today. Ours is brand number 11, used in the first decades of the 20th century until 1977, the year in which it changed to a very similar one but with a thinner line and underlying dating. In the photo immediately below this description we have put additional information on the manufacturing, written in French, for those who want to learn more, with the brands used, including ours, taken from our book in French "Manuel de la porcelaine européenne". At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. REMEMBER TO PUT ME IN THE FOLLOWING SELLERS LISTFor any additional information or clarification we are at your complete disposal, so contact us via message here on eBay SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTED.The cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost OUR SHIPMENTS:.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used.
