Description: 800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Ruby Early Clevenger Blown-Three-Mold Stoddard Pitcher South Jersey Glass Have you been fooled by the Clevengers? From its founding in 1930, to its closure in 1999, the Clevenger Brothers Glass Company of Clayton, NJ was known to produce hand blown glass that could fool the experts, blowing classic reproductions of early American South Jersey glass. Offered here is a Blown-Three-Mold Pitcher, the design called a Stoddard Pitcher by the Clevengers. It has a pontil mark on the base, but no “CB” Clevenger initials found on the bases made after the factory was sold in 1966. The rich ruby color Stoddard pieces date to the 1950-1960 time period, before Allie Clevenger’s death. This piece also has a strap handle, only found on these pitchers prior to 1960. (Compare to the later cobalt example on one of my other Ebay auctions.) The pitcher stands 7¼ inches tall and is in very good to excellent condition. The one flaw appears to be a small burst bubble on the outside design. It is one that is felt more than seen.
